Application Profile

Sealing a grain storage bin with polyurethane foam sealant

When storing grain, use polyurethane foam one component or polyurethane foam two component to keep the bin structure watertight.
• When drying grain, use ployurethane foam to minimize heat loss.
• Use polyurethane foam to avoid water contamination and eliminate the presence of pests and rodents.

Eveline
• Seal the gap between the bin structure and roof with polyurethane foam sealant, usually done on the inside.
• Apply as many layers of one-component polyurethane foam sealant or two-component polyurethane foam sealant as needed to fill the void.

Tank / Slab Junction
• Interior: Seal with one-component polyurethane foam sealant when the bin is empty.
• Exterior: Seal with two-component polyurethane foam sealant in tapered fashion. When the foam dries, apply a coat of latex paint.

• Seal areas of fan vent tube.
• Apply a coat of latex paint.

Application Tips
• Application surfaces must be dry and free of loose material and dust.
• Where possible, seal from the inside to avoid ultraviolet light.
• Exterior applications of foam should be painted with a latex paint for untraviolet protection.
